Anonymous Account Identifier

When you first use Reddvu, a randomly generated anonymous identifier is created. This identifier is not tied to any personal information and is used solely to associate your settings and preferences with your session.

Email Address

We only collect your email address if you voluntarily choose to add one to your account (for example, to enable account recovery or to subscribe to premium features). Providing an email is entirely optional.

Subscription and Payment Data

Premium subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We store your subscription status (active, cancelled, expired) but do not store credit card numbers or other payment instrument details on our servers. Please refer to Stripe's Privacy Policy for information on how Stripe handles your payment data.

Usage Analytics

We collect aggregated usage analytics (such as page views and feature usage) via PostHog. Analytics data is collected only with your consent. You may opt out at any time through the cookie consent banner or in your account settings.

Content Reports

If you submit a content report, we collect the information you provide in that report to investigate and take appropriate action.

Technical Data (Media Proxy)

Our media proxy processes your IP address and request timestamp for rate-limiting purposes. This data is automatically deleted after 24 hours and is never used for tracking or profiling.

2. What We Store Locally in Your Browser

Reddvu stores the following data locally on your device using browser storage (localStorage):

• Your settings and preferences
• Playlists you have created
• Favorited content
• Viewing history

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable sync. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings or within the Reddvu app.

3. Cookies

Essential Cookies

We use essential cookies for session management and to remember your consent preferences. These cookies are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled.

Optional Cookies

Analytics cookies (PostHog) and advertising cookies are only loaded after you provide explicit consent through our cookie consent banner. You can change your cookie preferences at any time.

4. Third-Party Services

Reddvu integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Stripe — Payment processing for premium subscriptions
• PostHog — Usage analytics (with consent)
• Ad Networks — Advertising displayed to free-tier users (with consent)

8. Data Retention

• Anonymous accounts — Retained until you request deletion.
• Analytics data — Retained for 12 months, then automatically deleted.
• Media proxy logs — IP addresses and timestamps are automatically deleted after 24 hours.
• Payment records — Retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations.

9. Children

Reddvu is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@reddvu.com and we will take steps to delete the information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service. Your continued use of Reddvu after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
